Sunday Sunshine Monday Seamster, Sartor, Modisite

Sunday was too nice to stay home. So we were off to find an adventure. You know it's going to include sunshine and yarn at some point during day don't you?


We stopped at Strands & Stitches in Laguna Beach to see what was new and found this beautiful Jitterbug sock yarn in the coolest punky colors. The picture doesn't do it justice. It goes from black to purple to hot pink. I'm not one for the shocking contrast but wow this is pretty in person. The Lantern Moon bamboo project bag is Mrs. Twisted purse/sock bag.

We found this bench in San Clemente just north of the pier. Never could find the "First Spot" though.
What a wonderful place to relax. Lots of stuff to see and people walking by.

You have to love the guys who bicycle to the beach to surf. Not much to ride today. The shore break was not worth the effort.

Still riding the waves in one form or another. Age doesn't matter.
Nice place to enjoy the afternoon.



Sun and the sea. The sounds of the waves slowly rolling in. So peaceful.


Until the train goes by. But hey, once it rolls out of sight it quickly returns to the lovely spot again.

Purple Chenille Boucle?


What do you call a male seamstress? ........... Not a tailor if he isn't making or altering clothing. These are the thoughts I have while sewing. Of course I googled it and found Seamster, Sartor and Modisite. Centuries ago men would be found in the needle arts and now it's female dominated. Funny how the roles change and the perceptions color the mind. It's all therapy to me. The construction that happens in my mind and then to watch it come together in application. Shhhh this is going to a SP gift. Just need to attach them back to back tonight so it becomes 2 sided.

The fabric on the left is sooooo pretty. The tea cup and saucer with purple African violets and posies on the light blue back ground. I have found that when these are constructed the weight of the two fabrics need to be close on both or you get too much sag in the opening.
