Pay it forward

Moving tends to do certain things to people. While packing away all our treasures and pictures I found myself pondering about my life, to reminisce about all the experiences we shared and also reflecting on what the future has in store.

Lately, I've been feeling very philanthropic and was really moved by this idea.
I found this on Mary Lynn's Blog and thought it was another way to give someone an unexpected smile when they least expect it. It’s based on the movie with Helen Hunt and Kevin Spacey in it called ‘Pay It Forward’.

Here's how it goes:

I promise I will send a handmade gift to 3 random people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this Pay It Forward exchange. I will contact you off line. ( I'm also going to add sock yarn, not a requirement for those following my lead just my little Twist)

This isn't a huge gift, just a little something to lift your spirits. I don’t know what that gift will be yet and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week, but you will receive it within 365 days, that is my promise! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog.

This is a just a way to make the world a little happier or at least the knitting world.

  4. Hi Twisteds -- this is a lovely idea! BTW the original book is much better than the movie, but the concept is the same. Anyway, I'm in!

  5. I agree with Roguetess, the book is much better than the movie and I really enjoyed the movie! Also, Catherine Ryan Hyde who is the author developed a Foundation based on the book. For more info, you can go to http://www.payitforwardfoundation.org/

    Thanks for paying it forward.
